[It's the only reply Sora gets as Judai continues to focus on the candy, the agony in his stomach easing a little at the taste of food, however junky, being given to it.

Even if he was willing to agree on that to dampen his powers... that hunger is just too much to really be denied when there's food near like this.]

[Realizing he's about to swallow the stick, he snaps it off, tugging it away... and licks the sugary remnants off of it.]

If you're good and let the scientists run their tests, I'll give you more.

[He gives a disappointed, almost desperate whine when the stick is pulled away -- he wanted that too, dammit, as unwilling as it would have been. But he lifts his head a little bit as Sora talks, nodding weakly.]

I can do that.

Good boy.

[Pat pat on his side. See, scientist cowards? It's safe! Do your goddamn job!]

[The scientists are still a bit wary, but move in as they were before, gingerly beginning to pick up the tests they had left once Sora had been sent down. When Judai doesn't stop them -- complaining, certainly, especially when something is poked or stuck into him -- they get a lot more bold, beginning to work normally now that there doesn't seem to be any danger.]

Sora. My deck's okay, right? Everyone's still together and it's not damaged or anything?

[...He's not even asking for it back.]

It's not damaged. I wouldn't harm cards. Especially not yours.

[Wow, Judai, you think that little of him?]

Your deck's safe. We've got it protected, so nobody can damage it or take it apart.

[Once it's been studied, anyway.]

[No, he doesn't think that at all, but being Judai, with his deck not on him, he has to worry. Though their examination won't give them any insight... they're the exact same cards that everyone else has and uses, after all.]

Thanks... Can I get it back? Even if just for a couple minutes?

Not yet... but if you behave, I'll ask the Professor to give it back. You'll be getting it back eventually anyway.

[OW he jerks as something's suddenly injected into his side, sucking in a breath as his hands tense. His vitals jerk up a little, whatever that was clearly causing some distress. The scientists watch the screens, murmuring quietly and taking notes.]

W-What about my jacket?

[scissorbear]

It's right here beside you. Hanging on the wall.

[Ow... that looked painful.]

[hyperhero]

[From the fact that his vitals are starting to fluctuate some, more than it looked.]

G-great. Don't let them get rid of that, okay?

[scissorbear]

Huh? But it's so old-fashioned... don't you want a new one?

[He looks over the monitor results, a little worried despite himself.]

[hyperhero]

No way! Red's my favorite color, remember? B-besides, that's the jacket I got when I first joined Academia... and it's like the ones my friends have.

[They dip a little, then rise higher, Judai's body apparently struggling with that serum.]

[scissorbear]

Hey, isn't that abnormal? Is that alright?

[He asks the scientists warily, before turning his attention back to Judai.]

I'll keep it safe. Don't worry.

[The vitals fluctuate for a bit longer, getting worryingly high at one point... and then simply plummet back down, acting a bit jerky before they steady themselves after some trouble.]

Yes.

[As the addressed scientist moves over to make notes, the other turning to Sora.]

We've noticed that his powers seem to have an almost passive effect on his body. We've been introducing some mixtures that cause mild, but still noticeable, problems, like the high heart rate you saw, to see how well it's handled. Even in his starved state, most of them are neutralized without any interference from us, given enough time to purge it.

[Akihiko pipes up from his position, glancing over.]

It's still only a theory, and stretching a little at that, but we suspect that he might actually have the ability to purge his body of anything it identifies as "unnatural". We won't know how far that can go until it's safe to test him with more threatening mixtures, but... it might possibly even extend to healing himself of physical wounds.

Seriously?!

[Sora strides over, staring wide-eyed at the scientists.]

That's incredible!

It's only a theory, remember. But every serum we've tested on him has had the same result of being purged on its own, which suggests at least some sort of healing factor. He may or may not know about it -- ask him about it. I have the feeling he'll respond better to you.

[Considering Judai isn't responding to them at all right now... it's strange. Almost as if he can't hear the scientists, or their voices are just white noise to him.]

...right now, I don't think he'll respond to anyone at all.

[But he'll go over anyway.]

Judai-?

[He lifts his head back up, shaking a bit as if Sora's voice had somehow effortlessly cut through whatever haze he's in.]

Yeah, I'm awake.

[scissorbear]

You don't seem well...

[Oh well.]

Hey, hey, did you know about your other ability?

[hyperhero]

I'm really hungry and I feel really tired all of a sudden.

[Hm... likely that power's fault, at least for the second one, considering how little energy his body actually has.]

Huh? What other ability?

[scissorbear]

You're purging the stuff they put into you... they think you might have a healing ability that's pretty dormant in you.

[But that weakness is pretty worrying... he must be burning through energy without knowing it. Tugging some chocolate out of his pocket, he unwraps it and presses it to Judai's mouth.]

[hyperhero]

[Whatever he was going to say is interrupted as he desperately snaps at that chocolate, devouring it as quickly as he can. He still can't see, so he can't quite be mindful of Sora's fingers...]

Oh, yeah... that happens sometimes. That's why I could walk around after catching you without hurting a lot a few days later.

Ow!

[He jerks his hand back. Ow... that was a hard bite.]
